You have taught me, more than anyone else I know, how to live the life I want to be living. I came to you, quite a mess from having broke up with my boyfriend, who was also an addict at the time. I thought that was the reason I came to you. Really, God just handed me the biggest gift on a golden platter and that was your help. You helped me and were with me in discovering pretty scary truths about my parents. You helped me own and understand my anxiety, and here is the main gift that you've given me: you've taught me not only to see life as a glass half full but that my cup is overflowing with blessing. You taught me that with challenge is real opportunity to grow. In fact, challenge is the heart of it all, of life. And the only thing we must do is face it head on,feel it, and trust that the universe has a plan for us far bigger than ourselves, and it involves utilizing this same growth and strength. I don't know my future, just like everybody else. But you've given me tools within myself to know that I can handle pretty much anything. And all of this time, through out all of our sessions, you were sure to really hear me, never imposing your opinions on me. You are a really good therapist-an exceptional one. When I say I owe the world to you I couldn't be more serious. For helping me and for helping the people I love even more. I hope,if anything, that I have taught you as I'm sure many of your clients have, that what you do matters so much. You are changing the world, giving back to the world, helping the world in ways that I dream of. Know this when times are hard: you inspire me.
Know that there will always be a huge space of gratitude for you in my heart.
Sincerely and with love,
Alison

Dear Kalman,
Thank you for all the advice and guidance you have given me. Thank you for all the hours you have spoken with me with patience and wisdom. I leaned a lot from you, to think logically and ignore the insignificant.
Sincerely,
Mendel

I was absolutely paralyzed with fear and couldn't move forward. Kalman leaned in, locked his eyes with mine, and with intensity and precision, zeroed in on what I needed. He knew what to say to lead me to where I needed to be. After that, I knew he was fully invested in my progress. This gave me the courage to push forward through the pain and commit to doing the work that was required to reclaim my life from PTSD.
